Heather McKinley, CEO & Founder
Our world is struggling. People are suffering because of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, depression, domestic violence, poverty, lack of education, the list goes on and on.
HWM Productions uses the gift of visual storytelling to change current attitudes, beliefs, and behavior. As different as we all are, we are all in this together. It just takes one story to potentially change the human heart or help turn a life around. We hope to inspire someone to go after dreams that seem larger than life. That is what we’re doing at HWM and we hope to pay it forward to bring as many others as possible along with us. What good is a gift if we do not share it?
Race for Love focuses on an interracial couple; a black man and a white woman and the controversy between their families.
In 2007, Heather McKinley had the opportunity to interview Tyler Perry after a press screening of Madea’s Family Reunion in Atlanta, GA. The silver screen spoke to Heather that day unlike any movie ever has. There is a scene where Blair Underwoods’ character, Carlos, is knocking Rochelle Aytes’ character, Lisa, around in the dining room. That scene changed Heathers life forever. Six months later she filed for divorce and became a single mom with three children under the age of five. Madea’s Family Reunion was the catalyst that inspired a dramatic life change that ultimately sky rocketed her life.
